How to use IDM?

1.    Download and install a free copy of IDM, and then launch the program.

  Click on the program's "Add URL" button if you have a link for a file you want to download. Copy and paste the download link into the "Address" field in the dialog box that appears, and click "OK." Alternatively, navigate to a page with active download links, and IDM will ask for permission to download the file(s).

  Click on IDM's "Stop" button to pause downloads and press the "Resume" button to continue any paused downloads. Select any unwanted downloads, and then click on the "Delete" button to remove in-progress files from your queue.

  Navigate through the folder tree on the manger's left side to locate a completed download. IDM will sort files into categories, like "Documents" and "Video."

  Use the "Stop Queue" and "Start Queue" button to pause or resume your entire download list. Click on the manager's red "X" to close the program's interface -- the program will still run in your computer's background and will be available whenever you get ready to download a file.

  HOW TO PLAY SUBS(.SRT) IN VLC PLAYER

  
  
• 1. Locate the video or movie clip you want to play. Locate the clip's .srt file. The clip and .srt file will have the same file name, but with different extension types. For example, "thisisavideo.avi" and "thisisavideo.srt."
• 
  
  2. Create a folder and place the clip and .srt files into them. Or, make sure the two files are in the same place on the computer.
• 3. Open VLC. Drag the .avi file and drop it into the VLC window.
• 4. Open the Video drop down menu and choose "Subtitle Track." Select "Track 1." Your subtitles, which is the .srt file, should start playing.

  5. Select "File" and then "Open file" if your video clip's subtitles aren't playing correctly. Select the "Browse" function and manually locate your .srt file and play it.

  6. Select the "Subtitle options" box to open the .srt file if Step 5 doesn't work. Click the "Settings" button and select "Browse" to find the .srt file and play it.

HOW TO EXTRACT ARCHIVES(.RAR, .ZIP, ETC..)

• 1. Navigate to your compressed file.
• 2. Right-click the archive, click "7-Zip" and then "Extract Files." This loads a 7-Zip extraction dialog.
• 3. Look at the file path in the "Extract To" field. This is where the extracted files are placed. By default, the files are extracted to the same directory as the archive. If you would like to change this to a new directory, click the "Menu" button next to this field and select a new location in the file browser.
• 4. Locate the "Password" field. If the archive is encrypted, type the password in this field.
• 5. Click the "OK" button to start extracting with 7-Zip.
